This year, for the first time the awards celebrated T-levels, with two new categories: T Level Student of the Year, and T Level Employer of the Year. The Gatsby Charitable Foundation has been delighted to sponsor these new awards in their inaugural year.

Nominations were of extremely high quality across both categories, and we congratulate all entrants on their achievements.  The final winners on the night were:

T Level Student of the Year 2024: Fernanda Vargas

Fernanda completed the Digital Production, Design, and Development T Level completing her 45-day industry placement with IBM, where she is now doing a Digital & Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship. She said: “I’m honoured to represent how T Levels can transform potential into achievement and dreams into reality. Winning this award is a testament to the opportunities T Levels provide for young people to thrive."

T Level Employer of the Year 2024: Lloyds Banking Group

On receiving their award, John Banks, T-levels and Apprenticeships Manager said: “We are over the moon to be recognised as the national winner for The Gatsby T Level Employer of the Year Award at the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards 2024. The T Level students we have hosted bring real insight and technical capability into our organisation and it is so rewarding to be able to provide these opportunities for young people, both in terms of industrial placements and also a pathway into apprenticeships, which can be life changing for some"

Presenting the T-Level Employer of the Year award, Jenifer Burden MBE, Director of Programmes at Gatsby, congratulated Lloyds Banking Group on their outstanding achievements.

“We are delighted that Lloyds Banking Group continues to grow their industry placement offer, supporting students into rewarding technical careers. These awards powerfully demonstrate the impact that employers embracing T Levels can have and showcase the opportunities that a high-quality technical education provides for students."
